Enrolment Policy

IPurpose:

To allow a student population which is of an appropriate size to make optimum use of the school facilities.

Guidelines:

•  The school in the first instance should only enrol children if we are able to meet their individual educational needs irrespective of class size and the new enrolment does not in any way jeopardise the well being of other students

•  Enrolments of children with siblings already attending the school will be automatically accepted.   (This will of course normally be Prep children).

•  The school believes that our optimum population is 325. We also believe that a total of 14 grades is the optimum number of grades in light of the school's facilities and grounds.

•  When class ceilings are reached at a particular year level the following advice will be given to parents seeking enrolment:

•  If Heidelberg isn't the closest school to you, please seek enrolment at your nearest school. We regret that we cannot offer your child a place at our school. You are welcome to be placed on our waiting list.

•  If Heidelberg is the closest school to you, then we welcome the enrolment of your child/children at our school. However you may wish to consider that large class sizes will not be in the best interests of your child/children.
