2027 Foundation Enrolments

Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.

The Department of Education (DE) has released a new statewide Foundation enrolment timeline. You can find information and resources about this new timeline, including factsheets, at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2027 at Heidelberg Primary School from 20 April 2026.

School Tour times TBC - beginning Term 2, 2026.

You will be able to determine your school zone by accessing  Find My School.

Important Notes:

  1. If you are in the Heidelberg Primary School zone or have a child at our school who will still be enrolled in 2027, you should access and complete the Student Enrolment Form
  2. If you live outside of the Heidelberg Primary School zone, you will need to access and complete the Student Application Form
  3. If you are not able to access these forms online, you may visit the school office to collect a hardcopy.

Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The Department of Education has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Heidelberg Primary School.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school on 9457 2259 to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process or book a school tour via our website https://www.heidelbergps.vic.edu.au/ once dates are advertised.
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available 20 April 2026). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
  3. Enrolment applications from parents/carers are due to be submitted by the last Friday of July, 31 July 2026.
  4. Schools notify parents and carers of the outcome of enrolment applications between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August 2026.
  5. Parents/carers who receive an enrolment offer should respond to the offer by Friday 28 August 2026.
  6. Written appeals from parents/carers are to be lodged with schools by Friday 28 August 2026.
  7. Schools notify parents and carers in writing of the outcome of appeals by Friday 11 September 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
